So today I had my follow up appointment after my recent surgery.
I had the dressings off, stitches out (Hooray!! No more wrapping my foot up before my shower every day!) and it all looks good!!
Now for one more follow up appointment, along with one more xray (seriously, I am going to be able to use my foot as a night light soon!!)and if that all looks good then that is it!
I can't believe it has taken so long to get to this point. I guess having a baby in the middle of it all has prolonged things, but who would have thought I would still be recovering 7 months down the track!
He assures me that I will be able to start using the treadmill again soon to do some walking on it, and said I can run as much as I can tolerate.....even before I broke my foot, I didn't run well so I'm thinking that I won't be doing this for a while! LOL
Hopefully I will have good news to report in a months time......I will really need to consider changing the name of this blog....

Screws be gone!
So it's been a while since I updated this blog, have had a baby in the meantime which has taken up a bit of my time!
This is Annabel Ruby....
So far she has been a great baby, definitely a brighter side to an otherwise miserable start to the year!!
and this is my foot post screw removal
The lovely pink colour of my toes is from the surgery, although there is a bit of bruising underneath that bandage.
Surprisingly it isn't as sore as I thought it would be. I was up and walking not long after surgery, although it was very slowly, and I am improving everyday. It doesn't feel nearly as stiff as it has been, so I'm hoping that is a good sign that it will feel a lot better than it has since I initially injured it.
My next appointment is in 1.5 weeks, if all goes well, it will be the end of this saga!! I am crossing everything that it all heals up nicely, and I can move on.
